In the packed and sweltering hot environment of the historic Beurs van Berlage, Amsterdam, around 1600 assorted geeks and business types attended the Amazon AWS Summit, 2014. CustomerGauge's own Head of Technology, Alessio Nobile gave a presentation "Journey to a Fast, Flexible and Reliable Growth" on how we scaled the business from a few thousand email transactions a month to the millions that we are doing now, and what we plan to do to cope with forecasted demand (10x this year).

We are proud to host on Amazon AWS, and now have three data centers: Ireland (EU), North Carolina (USA) and Sydney (Australia). We run the database on Amazon RDS technology, use auto-scaling EC2 instances, use SQS queues and other Amazon features - it's been a key factor in our growth. We are now looking at using other features like Redshift to provide data warehousing functions. Alessio is pictured here shaking hands and giving respect to the AWS CTO Werner Vogels.

What's nice to see is how this has really evolved in Amsterdam - together with AWS experts 9Apps.net and CustomerGauge partner) we started out a local chapter of a AWS users back in October 2010. Here's a picture from our second meeting in January 2011, with 10 of us in our old offices!
